I have decided to start a new blog series called "A New Thing." As many of you know, I am about to graduate from seminary and will soon be starting a new ministry in a new city. I am super-excited about this adventure and feel blessed to have such a wonderful future beckoning me on to the next chapter in my life. "A New Thing" is going to be a series of essays focused on this transition.

I've decided to do this for a few reasons. For one thing, I really want to introduce a new kind of writing to this blog, which could use a little more heft from time to time. But beyond that, all throughout seminary I really would have appreciated being able to read about the experiences of someone who has "gone before me" into the world of ordained ministry and general adulthood. Knowing that I might be working with interns next year, I have been thinking a lot about what I would like to share with other young people who are discerning ministry or are embarking on a major life change of their own. One of the things I can offer, I think, is my own experience, which I will try to do in this series. I will try to write new essays about once a month for the next year, so keep checking back!
